  1. Thomas M. Boyd

Even for those of us who have pretty good self-confidence, this book will help with guidance and exercises for those stubborn areas that still make us doubt ourselves. Highly recommend!

  2. J. Rhoades

This book really helped me while I was going through a divorce. I didn’t know who I was anymore and felt like every decision I was making was the wrong one. I needed some help to get me grounded again and this book really helped me get back on my feet. It gave me a lot of practical advice. There’s places for reflection and to take action steps. I’ll be reading it again every so often for sure.

I truly enjoy this workbook. It’s practical, useful, and it simplifies what confidence really means as opposed to what most people perceive it to be; superficial and physical. I highly recommend this workbook to anyone who is seeking to strengthen this area of their life, I think you’ll find it helpful.

This book is awesome! I got an advance copy because I’m a psychologist. You never know what you’ll get with those but this has been a pleasant surprise. What I like best is that it gives the research and background on confidence in an engaging way, but then goes on to have practical steps and exercises for people to follow. You can tell a psychologist wrote it because it’s very similar to what you would do in therapy. I plan to order a hard copy to be able to use with my clients. Strongly recommend!

  5. Marla Genova, Social & Speaking Anxiety Coach

I have read all of Dr. Barbara Markway’s books and they greatly helped me overcome social anxiety. This modern comprehensive workbook has everything you need! It encompasses many topics, strategies and resources in a warm, easy to read tone. It has step by step, real, relatable action steps, and is up to date with examples, scenarios (e.g., social media and bad news burnout) and names of other empowering individuals in the field in all sorts of media and book formats.I’ve been gathering resources for 20 years in this area. I’m delighted to see each method I’ve seen to be highly effective in my personal and professional life come to light. From cognitive distortions (automatic negative thoughts), exposures, growth-based mindset, scarcity vs abundance thinking, creating hierarchies and realistic action plans, covering areas of CBT, ACT and Coaching – they are all beautifully intertwined. To really grasp the concepts, there are many brief scenarios with relatable characters who are facing challenges and overcoming them realistically; it’s a helpful added touch in each chapter. The Chapter Takeaways and Action Steps are a bountiful bonus, including links to even more modern resources. The thought-provoking questions are wonderful to getting to the root off your thinking and how to transform your beliefs, this workbook is definitely something to look back upon over time, track and update regularly. They aren’t cheesy questions that are typically asked in self-help books, they are of great depth with much detail of how to interpret them and connect them to other tools in the book.As a social anxiety/fear of public speaking support group and workshop facilitator over the past decade and a life coach the past couple of years, this workbook is like nothing I’ve seen before and it will be recommended to just about everyone I meet : )

Very informative, easy to read and interactive. You actively respond to questions about content in the book, and it forces you to apply what you are reading to your life.

  9. Jenifer Seaver

Only 3/4 through the book. I find that it is helping. I have been taking notes along the way, but using a notebook instead. So I can look back at the book when I have negative thoughts or feel self doubt. Definitely recommend for those struggling to find their confidence.

  10. Katherine L.

Self-confidence begins with knowing ourselves. And that is what this workbook helps us to understand. There are so many practical tools and accessible strategies included in this guide, and I’m very glad I stumbled upon it. I highly recommend it if you’re trying to overcome self-doubt and improve self-esteem.
